Job Title and Description:
Algorithm and Software Developer

Oceanit is seeking an experienced software developer to lead algorithm and software development to support a wide range of image processing, astronomical data processing, and telescope instrumentation control for space situational awareness applications.

RESPONSIBILITIES and TASKS:
- Utilize image processing techniques to improve the SNR of astronomical images.
- Work with a team of multi-disciplined engineers to develop and test software to manage and control optical sensors.
- Develop state of the art algorithms to extract various meta data from astronomical images.
- Bring market and competitor knowledge to help craft technical and programmatic win strategies.
- Provide technical expertise, knowledge, pursuit strategy, and business opportunities relative to the above tasks.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of a MS in Computer Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering.
- Knowledge of Python and C++ desired.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and be able to obtain a security clearance. Existing secret, top secret, and/or SCI clearance a plus.
- A minimum of five years experience in optical space surveillance or applied optical astronomical applications is a plus.
- Experience in business development, customer relationships, concept development, and proposal writing is a plus.
- Excellent written and presenting skills, with the ability to clearly and competently convey technical system designs and trades to customers.
