R & D Engineer

JOB SUMMARY

Neurobehavioral Research Inc (NRI) specializes in using EEG, structural and functional MRI and neuropsychological and behavioral assessment to study the effects of alcohol, drugs and diseases on brain structure and function. NRI also works towards developing new methods and technologies to support this endeavor.

The successful candidate for the R & D Engineer position will be working closely with senior research staff to design and develop methods for brain MRI analysis, including software programming, creation of visualization tools and data presentation.  
 
DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS  

• Software programming (C++)
• Strong mathematical background (especially geometry, topology, statistical models and applications thereof)
• Experience in scientific computation, visualization and 3D modeling
• Expert in Linux or Mac OSX operating systems, including shell scripting

QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor or Masters in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent education and/or experience  
• Minimum 4 years of software development experience
• Programming experience is a must (C/C++). Experience in QT, VTK library, parallel programming (GPU), numerical methods, 3D modeling and linear algebra are desired
• Ability to research technical articles
• Ability to work effectively within a dynamic team is critical  
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills required
