HDS JOB OPENING

Available Position: Systems Analyst

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
Provides support for all computer systems.  Implements, monitors and maintains systems and application software running under UNIX and Windows systems.  Oversees day-to-day operations and maintenance of the local area network.

1. Maintains server hardware running both Unix and windows operating systems.
2. Coordinates and performs additions and changes to network hardware, operating systems and attached devices.
3. Participates in planning design, technical review and implementation of new network infrastructure hardware and software.
4. Maintains and improves policies and procedures to protect computer programs, data bases and data files.
5. Reviews and evaluates changes in network hardware and software technology.
6. Establishes and follows standards and procedures to ensure effective installation, management and utilization.
7. Provides documentation and training on products and services.
8. Supports end users in normal day-to-day desktop computing challenges.
9. Support and maintain VOIP based telcom system
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Information Systems or an equivalent combination of education, experience and training.
2. Experience
- Minimum of four (4) years of experience in system design in a medium to large-scale data processing environment, of which two(2) years experience in operating in a UNIX environment, maintaining intel-based personal computers/servers, maintaining data/telecommunications systems, and/or maintaining common desktop operating systems and applications.
3. Skills and Knowledge
- Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to learn new software and hardware  
- Knowledge in the use of UNIX, MS Office language
- Ability to work amicably and communicate effectively with management, vendors and user departments
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines
- Dedication to accuracy and a sense of responsibility in handling confidential information and material
- Good oral and written communication skills
