Seeking: Director of Systems (full time, full benefits position)

Three work locations available:
1. McLean, VA
2. Tukwila, WA
3. Honolulu, HI

We are currently seeking the Director of Systems.  The Director of Systems must be an excellent communicator, an effective team leader, have the ability to multi-task, possess excellent client interaction skills, be detail oriented, assertive, an excellent and tenacious problem solver and have the ability to excel with minimal supervision.  The Director of Systems must be at Sr. Systems Engineer level technically with the years of experience to prove it.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the team leaders, other discipline directors, vendors, contractors and clients to make sure all overall company objectives are being met and delivered.
- Motivate all members of the systems department to attain individual project and overall company goals as indicated by the Management Board.
- Responsible for all department staffing requirements and for maintaining a qualified staff of systems and network engineers to perform the work required across four locations (VA, WA & HI)
- Responsible for the planning and resource allocation decisions required to meet project schedules. Prepare or review all systems man-hour estimates and documents prior to their release.
- Travel and work directly at various data centers (VA, WA) locations and on-site in Honolulu.
- Responsible for the day-to-day administration and future capacity planning, design, etc. of internal company systems, ranging from internal operations, mail, web database, etc. servers (typically clusters) to the complex shared hosting platform and the massive (10,000s of servers large within 1st year cloud-computing cluster, and productizing various complex hosting solutions (documenting it, training support staff in setting up and supporting it).  - Project lead in architecture, implementation, and support of both shared and dedicated hosting services including web, email, DNS, monitoring, and others.

Requirements
- 5+ years in managing services in the web hosting industry along with an understanding of the future technologies that will be required to remain competitive in the industry.
- 3+ years in project management role in hosting or related industry.
- 5+ years experience with Linux, Free BSD, other Unix systems, and Windows servers.
- 5+ years experience in large shared production environments (1,000s of servers).
- Solid experience and strong ability to work with PC-based hardware.
- Experience administering MySQL and MS SQL Databases.
- Expertise with Apache setup and configuration with PHP, performance tuning and log file management.
- Solid Perl or Bash shell scripting ability.
- Experience with using virtualization in a production environment (Xen).
- Experience building highly available web hosting architectures including data replication and failover.
- Direct experience with high volume email architectures including replication and disaster recovery.
- Ability to travel 40% of a year.
