Information Technology (Academic Support Specialist) PBA, position number 78197
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assists in the management of the Digital Media Center (faculty computer development lab) and provides hands-on training and technical support for faculty and staff using the facility.
Participates in the planning, development, conducting, and evaluating workshops focusing on instructional technology tools (online applications (CMS/LMS), content tools, web tools, universal access) and instructional design for the system.
Working under minimal supervision, support all users (students, faculty, staff) using ITS supported learning technologies (e.g. Laulima/LMS/CMS/Halawai (Connect)).
Serves as a technical expert to research, recommend, advise and assist faculty, staff, and students of the University system-wide with consulting for the appropriate use of technology for teaching and learning.
Performs high-level programming for ITS-AT and UH community to integrate applications, fillable forms, and databases with the web for teaching and learning activities.
Program, test, evaluate, and implement new computer applications for improved teaching and learning, integrate new applications for use with existing course management systems, evaluate, modify, and maintain existing programs.
Keep abreast of advances in information technology and assess the feasibility of incorporating into project plans and specifications.
Ensure programming projects are planned, programmed, tested, and implemented by project deadlines. Work directly with departments and offices in implementing and testing making necessary programming modifications.
Ability to work outside of normal work schedule, nights, weekends and/or holidays as directed.
